Biodegradable and disposable sanitary napkin is very important stuff for women and the use of these napkins is a basic necessity. Yet due to cost factor, it is not always affordable for use in all sections of society. Per piece of cotton pads, the price is 8 tk. Due to the high price, more than 60% of women cannot afford it. For this reason, the fabric is preferable to sanitary napkins. They reuse the same fabric for a long time by washing it, but in many cases these fabrics are not properly hygienic for reuse, to solve this problem it is very important to develop an indigenous sanitary napkin from natural resources at the cheapest cost.
Research for Disposable Jute napkins:
After conducting a long time of research Farhana Sultana, an assistant scientist at icddrb innovated a new machine to produce sanitary napkins from disposable jute cellulose, for this reason, she won the grand prize. This newly developed ecofriendly pad is very much effective for sustainable menstrual health for women around the world. This is another way to solve the menstrual health, at the same time hygiene for both Bangladeshi women and girls. This is very difficult to find any machine in Bangladesh to produce jute cellulose napkins. Sultana under the supervision of Dr. Mubarak Ahmed Khan, scientific advisor at Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation, developed the jute cellulose-based disposable sanitary napkin.

Before going to commercial production we need it is
important to conduct an industrial trial to assess the compatibility,
compressibility, and stretchability of the sanitary napkins, at the same time
it will be possible to get a clear idea about cost-effective analysis with the
other companies’ disposable napkin which is already commercially running in the
market. It is a general matter that women feel comfortable using safe sanitary
napkins, however, just a limited number of studies have been conducted research
and submitted reports about the incidents of genital cancer using sanitary
napkins. But dioxin and super-absorbent polymers are the main raw materials of
napkins, and it is not proven that dioxin may harm our reproductive organs, which
may responsible for cervical cancer or ovarian cancer.
The name jute is given by the fiber extracted. Jute cellulose
is a new raw material and one of the cheapest natural fibers. Scientists in
Bangladesh have been trying to make sanitary napkins from this new raw material.
But unfortunately, there is no machine available in Bangladesh at all to
produce such a product.

Cellulose and lignin are the most common components of
plant fiber and wood fiber. Thus it is lignocellulosic fiber because it is
composed of partially wood and partially textile fiber. Raw jute is the most
common industrial term, it is 3-12 feet long, off-white in color, and turned
to brown.
Disposable Newly invented jute napkins:
A newly invented biodegradable and disposable product is a sanitary napkin. This eco-friendly product is made from jute are
both cost-effective and main absorbent ingredients.
The present advancement is thus targeted at sanitary napkins which can be on one hand obtained from readily available
renewable natural sources and on the other to polythene making it available
to wider sections of society.

Jute fiber and jute sticks are the present inventions
of sanitary napkins since they have been considered one of the cheapest and the
most available, and absorbent raw materials. It is not incorporated with superabsorbent
polymer. The production process of these two ecofriendly products is easy,
simple, and chemical-free, having no adverse impact on the planet.
Simple process and cheapest are the most
important advantages of sanitary napkins, unskilled or semi-skilled women can
operate the machine.
Ecofriendly sanitary napkin is a new product in the market
and a new biggest opportunity is knocking at the door of Bangladesh. The textile
industry may produce newly innovated sustainable products by using manpower and
machine development. At the same time, Bangladesh can earn lots of foreign
currency by exporting this napkin around the world at a reasonable price. As a
result, women can protect themselves from several types of diseases.
